How do custom orders work at The Custom Cottage?
Every custom piece begins with a conversation. Fill out the custom inquiry form with your occasion details, color preferences, inspiration photos, and timeline. Once received, I’ll reach out with a personalized design proposal and quote — no obligation until you’re ready to proceed.
Think of it less like placing an order and more like co-creating something together. Your input shapes every decision, from the flowers and materials to the finishing details that make the piece unmistakably yours.
Can I send inspiration photos?
Absolutely — and they are incredibly helpful. Inspiration photos give us a shared visual language before any words are exchanged. Pinterest boards, saved Instagram posts, magazine clippings — anything that captures the mood, color, or style you are envisioning is welcome.
One gentle note: no two handcrafted pieces are ever identical, even when inspired by the same photo. What you receive will be influenced by your inspiration but made entirely by hand — which means it will be unique, and entirely yours.
What is your refund policy?
Once your contract is signed non-refundable payment in full is required to begin production. This payment secures your date in the production schedule and covers the cost of materials sourced specifically for your piece, and includes shipping, so there’s never any ‘extra’ surprise. Because every custom piece is made exclusively for you, payment cannot be refunded once sourcing of materials begins — this protects both of us and ensures materials are never wasted. Refunds are not available on custom orders, unless sourcing of materials has not yet begun.
What is your return policy?
Custom orders are ineligible for returns unless they are damaged, and proof of damage is emailed within two days of receipt of your custom order, to protect both Festivity Harbor and you, Custom orders come with the extra assurance that photos of your completed order are sent for approval by you prior to shipping, and each piece is carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition, and is shipped insured. Requiring approval before shipping makes sure you are completely happy with your order prior to it shipping.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes — shipping is available for most products across the United States. Each piece is carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition. For local customers in the Columbia, South Carolina area, local pickup or delivery may also be available for larger orders — please mention this in your inquiry.
